India wins Sultan of Johor Cup 2022 in Malaysia.

  • Indian Under 21 men’s hockey team has won the 10th edition of Sultan of Johor Cup title, after defeating Australia in 2022 final, held in Johor Bahru, Malaysia from 22 to 29 October 2022.
  • Earlier, India has won two titles in 2013 and 2014.
  • The top-scorer of tournament was Sharda Nand Tiwari from India, with seven goals to his name.
  • The Player of the Match: Sudeep Chirmako.
  • Sultan of Johor Cup was started in 2011.


Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag win men's doubles French Open 2022 title.

  • In Badminton, the Indian duo of Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy have won the men's doubles final of the French Open 2022 in Paris.
  • The Indian duo has defeated Chinese Taipei’s Lu Ching Yao and Yang Po Han in finals.

Indian Navy joins trilateral exercise with Mozambique, Tanzania.

  • India has participated in the first edition of India-Mozambique-Tanzania Trilateral Exercise (IMT TRILAT) commenced at Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania on 27 October.
  • Indian Navy has represented the guided missile frigate, INS Tarkash, a Chetak helicopter and MARCOS (Special Forces).
  • Objectives: (1) Capability development to address common threats through training and sharing of best practices, (2) Enhancing interoperability, and strengthening maritime cooperation.


Meghalaya signs MoU with Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for MSME borrowers.

  • The Meghalaya government has signed an MoU with the Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises (CGFTMSE), under the Ministry of MSME, to help facilitate flow of credit to MSME borrowers.
  • Aim: To implement the Meghalaya Credit Guarantee Scheme.
  • Presently, the loans taken by MSME borrowers are covered under CGTMSE against a risk coverage of 75% of the loan amount under various MSME schemes.
