France considers law to ban discrimination.

• French lawmakers are debating legislation banning discrimination over the texture, length, colour or style of someone’s hair.
• The bill was proposed by Olivier Serva, a French lawmaker from the French Caribbean island of Guadeloupe.
• The bill would amend existing anti-discrimination measures in the labour code and criminal code to explicitly hair discrimination.

India’s Foreign Exchange Reserves Increased By 140 Million Dollars.

• India's forex reserves increased by USD 140 million to touch its all-time high of USD 642.631 billion during the week ended March 22.
• The previous peak level was recorded in September 2021 when the country's foreign exchange reserves reached USD 642.453 billion.
• Gold reserves increased by USD 347 million to USD 51.487 billion during the week.

PFRDA Mandates Two-Factor Aadhaar Authentication for CRA Access.

• Starting April 1, 2024, approximately 1,600 government offices will adopt two-factor Aadhaar authentication.
• It will incorporate an additional security layer, thereby minimizing the likelihood of unauthorized access and enhancing the protection of NPS transactions.

Prof. Meena Charanda to receive International Culture Award.

• Principal of Kalindi College, Delhi University, Prof. Meena Charanda will be awarded for her remarkable work in the field of education and social service.
• Pro. Charanda has been teaching in the Department of Political Science of Kalindi College for more than two decades.
• Her book on the role of Dalit MLAs in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly has also been published.

Six traditional crafts of Assam get GI tags.

• 6 traditional products and crafts of Assam, including Bihu Dhol, Jaapi and Sarthebari bell metal craft, have been accorded GI tags.
• Assam Asharikandi Terracotta Craft, Assam Pani Mateka Craft, Sarthebari Metal Craft, and Assam Missing Handloom Products are the other products that received the GI tags.
• The applications for the GI tags for these products were filed in 2022.
