India world’s top arms importer between 2019-23: SIPRI Report.

  • India remains the world’s top arms importer and its imports increased by 4.7 percent between 2014–2018 and 2019–2023 according to the Swedish think tank SIPRI.
  • Russia continued as India’s main arms supplier adding around 55 percent of arms imports by European states in 2019–23 were supplied by the US, up from 35 percent in 2014–18.
  • Pakistan was the fifth largest arms importer in 2019–23.

  • Airports Council International recognizes 6 Indian Airports including Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai.
  • Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad got recognition in the category of catering 15 to 25 million passengers.
  • Chandigarh airport appeared as the best airport in the 2 to 5 million passengers.

Jamshedpur to host National Para Badminton Championship.

  • The 6th National Para Badminton Championship 2023-2024 will be held from March 19-23, 2024 at Mohan Ahuja Stadium, Jamshedpur.
  • Over 300 para-athletes from across India will compete in the four-day National Para Badminton Championship, commencing here on March 19.
  • The event is being jointly organised by the Badminton Association of India and Tata Steel.
