• LIC has emerged as the strongest insurance brand globally, according to a report Brand Finance Insurance 100 2024.
• LIC's brand value remains steady at USD 9.8 billion, accompanied by a brand strength index score of 88.3 and an associated AAA brand strength rating.

India achieved 16% decline in new TB cases since 2015.

• India has seen a decline of 16% in tuberculosis incidence from 2015 to 2022, higher than the global decline of 9%, as per the Annual India TB Report.
• The incidence rate in India had fallen from 237 per lakh population in 2015 to 199 in 2022.
• The mortality rate had declined from 28 per lakh population in 2015 to 23 per lakh population in 2022.
• Most TB cases were from UP, followed by Bihar.

India launched database to record crimes against UN peacekeepers.

• India has launched a new database designed to record crimes against UN peacekeepers and monitor progress in holding perpetrators accountable, India's UN envoy Ruchira Kamboj said.
• The launch of the database was announced at a high-level meeting of the India-led Group of Friends (GOF).
• India has contributed nearly 195,000 troops, the largest number from any country participated.

Saudi Arabia to participate in Miss Universe competition, 1st time.

• Rumy Alqahtani announced that she would be the first-ever participant from the country in the international competition.
• Miss Universe pageant event is set to take place in Mexico on September 18.
• Apart from being crowned Miss Saudi Arabia, she holds titles such as Miss Middle East (Saudi Arabia), Miss Arab World Peace 2021, and Miss Woman (Saudi Arabia).

World's largest copper manufacturing plant owned by Adani Group.

• Adani Group has started the 1st phase of the world's largest single-location copper manufacturing plant at Mundra in Gujarat.
• The 1st phase of the facility will produce 0.5 million tonnes a year of refined copper.
• India joins China and other nations that are rapidly expanding production of copper.
• India's per capita copper consumption is around 0.6 kg and the global average is 3.2 kg.
