India receives highest FDI from Singapore in 2023-24.

• Though FDI from Singapore has dipped by 31.55% to $11.77 billion in 2023-24, India has attracted the maximum inflows from that country.
• FDI equity inflows decreased from major countries, including Mauritius, Singapore, the U.S., the U.K., UAE, the Cayman Islands, Germany, and Cyprus.
• Since 2018-19, Singapore has been the largest source of such investments for India.

Gautam Adani overtakes Ambani to become Asia’s richest person.

• Adani with a net worth of $111 billion is now ranked as the eleventh richest in the world, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
• Ambani whose $109 billion wealth placed at No. 12.
• So far in 2024, Adani's net worth has jumped $26.8 billion while Ambani's wealth has increased by $12.7 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

Tanvi Sharma won Women’s Singles at Bonn Badminton Tournament.

• India’s Tanvi Sharma bagged the women’s singles title at the Bonn International Badminton Tournament, in Germany.
• The young Indian shuttler defeated Wang Pei Yu of Taiwan in straight sets, 21-19, 22-20. This is the first senior title for the 15-year-old Tanvi.
• Tanvi is ranked 181st in the world.
• The 15-year-old Tanvi belongs to Punjab.

Sushil Kumar appointed as Chairperson of Deendayal Port Authority.

• The ACC has approved the appointment of Sushil Kumar Singh (IRSME) as Chairperson of Deendayal Port Authority, Kandla.
• Singh is an Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineering (IRSME) officer of 1993-batch.
• Singh has been appointed in place of SK Mehta (IFoS).

Nayana James clinches Gold Medal in Women’s Long Jump at Taiwan.

• India’s Nayana James clinched the gold medal in the women’s Long Jump.
• She registered the best jump of 6.43 meters.
• India’s Ankesh Choudhary bagged the gold medal and compatriot Somnath Chouhan won the silver medal in the Men’s 800 meters in Taiwan Athletics Open.
• Sumire Hata of Japan won the silver, while Yu Jeongmi of South Korea won the bronze medal.
