Saudi Arabia to Host First Olympic eSports Games in 2025.

• Saudi Arabia will host the inaugural Olympic eSports Games in 2025, with a commitment to hold the event regularly for 12 years.
• Riyadh will also host the eSports World Cup from July 3 to August 25, featuring over 500 teams and a prize pool exceeding $60 million.
• The Saudi Esports Federation is strengthening global ties and promoting eSports, including a recent MoU with Japan eSports Union.

China Unveils World’s First Carbon Fiber High-Speed Train.

• The carbon fiber train is designed to reach speeds of up to 87 mph and is expected to use 7% less energy compared to conventional steel trains.
• Japan’s Shinkansen, introduced in 1964, was the 1st high-speed rail line.
• France’s TGV holds the world record at 357 mph (574 km/h), achieved in 2007.
• China boasts the largest high-speed rail network globally, spanning over 22,000 miles (35,000 km)

Gujrat State Govt Launches Shramik Basera Scheme For Labourers.

• CM Bhupendra Patel launched the Shramik Basera scheme to offer temporary housing to 15,000 construction workers at a cost of ₹5 per day.
• The initiative includes the construction of 17 new dwelling structures in major cities like Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Vadodara, and Rajkot.
• A plan to build additional facilities for 300,000 workers over the next 3 years, at a projected cost of ₹1,500 crore.

Manolo Marquez Appointed Coach of India's Senior Men’s Football Team.

• Manolo Marquez has been appointed as the new head coach of the Senior Men’s National Team.
• Marquez has been coaching in India since 2020. He has coached two ISL clubs - Hyderabad FC (2020-23) and FC Goa (2023-present).
• He is an ISL Cup winner with Hyderabad FC in 2021-22.

Chhangte, Indumathi win top male and female awards at AIFF awards 2024.

• India and Mumbai City FC winger Lallianzuala Chhangte and national women’s team midfielder Indumathi Kathiresan won the All India Football Federation’s (AIFF) male and female Player of the Award respectively.
• The Most Promising Player of the Year award - David Lahlansanga.
• The Best Male Coach of the Year - Khalid Jamil
