World's First High-Altitude Para Sports Centre to be estd. in Leh.

• A first-of-its-kind high-altitude para sports centre will be built in Leh, Ladakh, to train athletes for the 2028 Paralympics.
• The centre aims to enhance the skills & confidence of para-athletes, with an MoU signed between Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Leh & the Aditya Mehta Foundation (AMF).
• The centre comes after India’s impressive 29 medals in the 2024 Paralympics.

Yogi Adityanath Flags Off U.P.’s First Double-Decker Electric Bus.

• CM Yogi Adityanath launched Uttar Pradesh's first double-decker electric bus at the Aakanksha Haat programme in Lucknow.
• The bus will operate between Kamta Crossing and the airport via Shaheed Path, and initially, it will run as part of the heritage bus service in the morning.
• The service can accommodate 65 passengers, and passengers will receive 10% concession on digital payments.

UN Climate Change Conference (COP29) Begins in Baku, Azerbaijan.

• The COP29 (UN Climate Change Conference) has officially started in Baku, Azerbaijan.
• India is pushing for a New Collective Quantified Goal (NCQG) for climate finance, surpassing the outdated 100 billion dollar target set in 2009.
• India’s Economic Survey 2023-24 highlights the need for $2.5 trillion by 2030 to meet its commitments under the Paris Agreement.

IIT Madras and ISRO Partner for Fluid and Thermal Sciences.

• IIT Madras has partnered with ISRO to establish a Centre of Excellence on Fluid and Thermal Sciences to advance research in thermal management for spacecraft and launch vehicles.
• ISRO will provide Rs 1.84 crore to support the initiative.
• The Centre will focus on thermal management, spacecraft thermal regulation, combustion stability in hybrid rockets, and cryogenic tank thermodynamics.

Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal Releases Book Titled "Maa-Mother".

• Union Law and Justice Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal released a book titled Maa-Mother in New Delhi today.
• The event was attended by Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan and West Bengal Governor Dr C.V. Anand Bose.
• The book is written by Dr. Davendra Kumar Dhodawat, Additional Secretary to the Governor of Kerala.
