China Approves world’s largest $137 Billion Dam on Brahmaputra River.

• China has sanctioned the construction of the world's largest dam on the Brahmaputra River, costing $137 billion, located in Tibet.
• The dam, part of China's 14th Five-Year Plan, could generate over 300 billion kWh of electricity annually.
• The dam is to be built at a huge gorge in the Himalayan reaches where the Brahmaputra makes a U-turn to flow into Arunachal Pradesh and then to Bangladesh.

India Exports 200,000 Tonnes of Rice to Aid Flood-hit Bangladesh.

• Bangladesh imports 200,000 tonnes of rice from India to address food security concerns following severe floods.
• The first batch of 27,000 tonnes arrived at Chittagong port this week.
• Despite adequate current stocks, the precautionary measure aims to prevent future shortages.
• In addition to this, Bangladesh plans to import another 100,000 tonnes through a tender process.
