Canada Imposes 25% Tariffs on U.S. Imports.

• In retaliation to U.S. tariffs, Canada will impose a 25% tariff on $155 billion of American goods, starting with $30 billion worth.
• The move follows U.S. President Trump's tariff actions, and Canada will apply similar tariffs to another $125 billion of U.S. imports in 21 days.
• China and Mexico are also planning countermeasures against U.S. tariff hikes, citing trade war concerns.

PM Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana to Benefit 1.7 Crore Farmers.

• Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announces PM Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana to benefit 1.7 crore farmers, aiming to improve agricultural productivity, crop diversification, and irrigation infrastructure.
• The scheme promotes rural development and migration reduction.
• Additional initiatives include a Makhana Board in Bihar and a new urea plant in Assam.

Michael Bevan Inducted into Cricket Australia’s Hall of Fame.

• Michael Bevan, one of the greatest ODI finishers, has been inducted into Cricket Australia's Hall of Fame.
• The two-time World Cup winner (1999, 2003) scored 6912 ODI runs at 53.58 avg in 232 matches, excelling at No. 6.
• Known for game awareness and risk-free chases, Bevan mastered run pursuits with singles and twos, steering Australia to victory.

GST Revenue Hits ₹1.95 Lakh Crore in January 2025.

• GST collection in January 2025 reached ₹1.95 lakh crore, marking a 12.3% YoY growth.
• Central GST: ₹36,077 crore, State GST: ₹44,942 crore, IGST: ₹1 lakh+ crore, Cess: ₹13,412 crore.
• Ladakh saw the highest growth at 39%, followed by Nagaland and Andaman & Nicobar Islands at 26%.

Akashvani Launches "Har Kanthh Mein Bharat" on Basant Panchami.

• Akashvani, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, launched the radio series Har Kanthh Mein Bharat on Basant Panchami to promote Indian classical music.
• The series premiered on February 1 and will air daily until February 16 across 21 stations nationwide.
• The launch event at Pt. Ravishankar Music Studio included a floral tribute to Goddess Saraswati.
