  • Remona Evette Pereira, a 20-year-old Catholic student from Mangalore, has set a world record.
  • She performed Bharatanatyam (an ancient Indian classical dance) for 170 continuous hours.
  • This feat has been recognised by the Golden Book of World Records.
  • Remona is a student at St. Aloysius College, Mangalore.
  • She danced non-stop for 7 days, completing 10,200 minutes of performance.


Odisha signs MoUs with 33 companies in textile sector.

  • Odisha signed 33 MoUs worth $902 million (₹7,808 crore) to boost the textile and apparel sector.
  • The announcements were made at the Odisha-TEX 2025 summit held in Bhubaneswar.
  • Part of the Odisha Apparel & Technical Textile Policy 2022, aiming to make the state a textile hub of eastern India.
  • Textile hubs will be developed in six districts.


India’s insurance sector on track to more than double by 2030.

  • Recently, a joint report by the Insurance Brokers Association of India (IBAI) and McKinsey & Company outlined that India’s insurance industry is projected to surge by 123% by 2030 — from ₹11.2 lakh crore in 2024.
  • India is the fifth largest life insurance market in the world’s emerging insurance markets, growing at a rate of 32-34% each year.
