• India handled 241 million air passengers in 2024, becoming the 5th largest aviation market globally.
• This marked an 11.1% growth over 2023 (211 million passengers).
• India overtook Japan (205 million passengers) in global rankings.
• Now ranks behind only the US, China, UK, and Spain in air traffic volume.
• The Mumbai–Delhi air route ranked 7th busiest globally, with 5.9 million passengers.

IDFC FIRST Bank Launches RemitFIRST2India for NRI Transfers.

• IDFC FIRST Bank has launched RemitFIRST2India, a new digital remittance platform.
• Aimed at Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) to send money to India securely and quickly.
• Offers zero transfer fees and live transaction tracking.
• NRIs with IDFC FIRST Bank can use the mobile banking app to remit funds.
• Non-customers can use a paperless web portal to register and send money.

LTIMindtree to Lead ₹811 Cr PAN 2.0 Project for Tax Modernisation.

• LTIMindtree Ltd, a Larsen & Toubro subsidiary, will execute the PAN 2.0 project.
• Cleared by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs in November 2024.
• Project is valued at ₹811.5 crore and will go live in 18 months.
• PAN 2.0 aims to modernize India’s PAN and TAN systems using AI and data analytics.

India’s First FIFA Girls' Talent Academy Launched in Hyderabad.

• AIFF and FIFA have launched India’s first FIFA Talent Academy for girls.
• Located at Gachibowli Stadium Complex, Hyderabad, Telangana.
• Launched during the Telangana Sports Conclave through a signed MoU.
• The academy is part of FIFA’s Talent Development Scheme (TDS).
• Aims to boost women’s football in India with world-class training.

NMPB Signs two MoUs to Conserve Medicinal Plants, Build Awareness.

• National Medicinal Plants Board (NMPB) signed two key MoUs to conserve and promote medicinal plants.
• Initiative led by the Ministry of Ayush, event held at Nirman Bhawan, New Delhi.
• First MoU with IshVed-Bioplants Venture (Pune) to conserve rare, endangered, and threatened (RET) plants.
• Second tripartite MoU signed among NMPB, AIIA, and AIIMS, New Delhi.
