• The Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine 2025 was awarded to Mary E. Brunkow, Fred Ramsdell and Shimon Sakaguchi for their discoveries concerning peripheral immune tolerance.
• Awarding Body: The Nobel Assembly at the Karolinska Institutet.
• The Nobel Prize is one of the world’s most respected awards, given every year to people and organizations who have made great contributions to humanity.

Poland to Join NATO Pipeline System with €4.7 Billion Investment.

• Poland has announced plans to join the NATO Pipeline System (NPS) with a €4.7 billion investment.
• The NPS, established during the Cold War, supplies fuel and lubricants to NATO forces, offering modern flexibility.
• The pipeline spans 10,000 km across 12 countries, with a storage capacity of 4.1 million cubic meters, connecting various depots, air bases, refineries, and transport points.

India to Launch National Camel Sustainability Initiative.

• The Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying is set to launch the National Camel Sustainability Initiative (NCSI) to address the decline in India’s camel population.
• India is facing a rapid decline in its camel population, particularly in the camel-rearing states of Rajasthan and Gujarat.
• Nearly 90% of India’s camels are concentrated in Rajasthan and Gujarat.

Bhupender Yadav Inaugurates Rajasthan's First Namo Biodiversity Park.

• Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Bhupender Yadav, inaugurated Rajasthan’s first Namo Biodiversity Park, also known as NAMO VAN, at Pratap Bandh, Alwar.
• The park serves as a green lung for the Alwar region, aiming to improve local air quality, enhance urban green cover, and restore ecological balance.

Union Health Ministry Overhauls CGHS Medical Procedure Rates.

• The Union health ministry has announced a major revision of medical procedure rates under the Central Government Health Services (CGHS) scheme, the first since 2014.
• The updated pricing framework, effective October 13, 2025, will cover nearly 2,000 procedures and apply to 4.26 million beneficiaries across 80 cities.
