India Drops to 23rd in CCPI 2026 Amid Coal Exit Concerns.

• India fell 13 places to the 23rd rank in the Climate Change Performance Index (CCPI) 2026, shifting from a high to a medium performer, mainly due to the absence of a national coal phase-out plan.
• The CCPI assesses 63 countries + EU across GHG emissions, renewable energy, energy use, and climate policy, covering 90% of global emissions.

Roger Federer to Enter International Tennis Hall of Fame in 2026.

• Roger Federer will be inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame (ITHF) in August 2026.
• Federer, who retired in 2022, is a 20-time Grand Slam champion, winner of 103 career titles, and holds the record for 237 consecutive weeks as World No. 1 (2004–2008).
• In total, he spent 310 weeks as ATP World No. 1 and formed the iconic Big Three rivalry with Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic.

India Post Unveils First Gen Z-Themed Post Office at IIT Delhi.

• India Post inaugurated its first Gen Z-themed revamped Post Office at IIT Delhi.
• The redesigned Campus Post Office features modern aesthetics, Wi-Fi zones, creative graffiti and artwork by the IIT Fine Arts Society, and QR-based parcel booking with Speed Post discounts for students.
• This launch is part of a national plan to revamp 46 campus Post Offices across educational institutions.

• Curaçao, with a population of just 156,000, made history by qualifying for the FIFA World Cup—the smallest nation ever to do so.

UNESCO’s New Guidelines for the Use of Neurotechnology.

• UNESCO has issued the first global normative framework on the ethics of neurotechnology.
• Neurotechnology refers to devices and procedures that access, assess, and act on neural systems, including the human brain.
• It prohibits any use of neural or non-neural data for manipulative or deceptive purposes, including in political, medical and commercial contexts.
