Chandigarh University Develops AI Model for Precise Crop Yield Prediction.

Chandigarh University developed an AI-powered Transformer model for accurate crop yield prediction.
Uses satellite imagery (Sentinel-1 & Sentinel-2) along with rainfall, temperature, and soil moisture data.
Requires 40% fewer parameters than conventional AI models, making predictions faster and more efficient.
Tested on Paddy, Maize, Moong, and Sugarcane.
Outperformed traditional Random Forest and LSTM models.
Supports precision farming, crop planning, and resource optimization.

APEDA and the Embassy of India in Reykjavik organised the first Indian mango promotion event in Iceland.
Events were held on 24–25 June 2026.
Featured premium mango varieties: Dasheri, Chausa, Langra, and Kesar.
Initiative aimed to promote Indian mango exports under the India–EFTA Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement (TEPA).
India is the world’s largest producer of mangoes.

Plans include prey augmentation through translocation of species like Gaur and Barasingha.
