• Validity period of qualifying certificate from 7 years to lifetime with retrospective effect from 2011.
• TET is an essential qualification for appointment as a teacher in schools.
• CTET is conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
• last year National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) was recommended increasing the validity of CTET to lifelong.

India advances goal to achieve 20% ethanol-blending in petrol to 2023.

• To reduce India’s dependence on costly oil imports,
• India is the world's 3rd-biggest oil importer.
• The sugar industry will divert 6 million tonnes of surplus sugar to produce 7 billion litres of the ethanol.
