  • Validity period of qualifying certificate from 7 years to lifetime with retrospective effect from 2011.
  • TET is an essential qualification for appointment as a teacher in schools.
  • CTET is conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
  • last year National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) was recommended increasing the validity of CTET to lifelong.
