Bangladesh to develop alternative social media platform to Facebook, WhatsApp.

• The Bangladesh government is working to develop a social media platform named Jogajog as an alternative to Facebook.
• The government is also working to develop a communication app Alapan as an alternative to WhatsApp.
• The ICT Ministry has taken the initiative in this direction to make the country self-reliant.
• The platform will help local entrepreneurs to create their own marketplace for information and data sharing without having to depend on any foreign platform.
• The government is working to enhance the capacity of the video conferencing system Boithak from 100 persons to 300 persons.
• The Surokha app for corona vaccination registration is being used successfully in Bangladesh.

Chief Hydrographer "Vinay Badhwar" conferred with "Alexander Dalrymple Award".

• Chief Hydrographer Vinay Badhwar has been conferred with the award in recognition of his' unparalleled dedication, leadership and professionalism in the disciplines of Hydrography and Nautical Cartography.
• He was awarded the prestigious Alexander Dalrymple Award by the British Government.
• The award recognizes Badhwar's work in the areas of hydrography and nautical cartography.
• Vice Admiral Vinay Badhwar received the award from British High Commissioner Alex Ellis in a brief ceremony.

Gujarat High Court became the 1st court to start live streaming of proceedings.

• Chief Justice of India N.V. Raman announced that soon steps would be taken to replicate this to some extent in the Supreme Court as well.
• The CJI will also issue the Gujarat High Court (Live Streaming of Court Proceedings) Rules, 2021.
• The proceedings of the ceremony will be live-streamed on the official YouTube channel of Gujarat High Court https://www.youtube.com/c/Gujarat.

Tamil Nadu Health Minister launches vaccination program for children against "pneumonia and brain fever".

• Under the National Immunization Plan at Egmore Children's Hospital.
• Seventy thousand vaccines have been purchased and are in stock.
• Children affected by muscular dystrophy will be given special treatment at a dedicated hospital in Chennai.
• More than 2,000 children are affected by the disease in the state and in Chennai alone, 200 children have been identified for muscular dystrophy.
