The 1st animal DNA library has been set up in Rohini, Delhi.
- Delhi's first "Animal DNA Laboratory" was established at the Forensic Science Laboratory in Rohini.
- Wildlife forensics is a new field of criminal investigation.
- Earlier, animal samples were sent to other states along with animal DNA testing facilities for test results.
- Sometimes this process gets delayed in the investigation.
- Animal DNA laboratory will be used by Delhi Police for timely disposal of cow slaughter, animal trafficking and other such animal related cases.
The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) has inducted its 1st women officers in combat.
- The ITBP inducted its 1st two women officers into combat after completing their training at the ITBP Officers' Training Academy located in Mussoorie.
- ITBP started recruiting women combat officers in its cadre in 2016 through an all India examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
PM Narendra Modi launched Ujjwala 2.0 (Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana - PMUY) in Uttar Pradesh through video conferencing.
- PMUY 2.0 was announced in the Union Budget for FY 2021-22.
- There was a provision of one crore additional LPG connections under the scheme.
- These 10 million additional PMUY connections (under Ujjwala 2.0) are aimed at providing deposit-free LPG connections to low-income households that could not be covered under the 1st phase of PMUY.
- Modi handed over the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG or LPG) connection in Mahoba, Uttar Pradesh through video conferencing.
Railways launched a one-stop passenger helpline "Rail Madad".
- A number of helplines that earlier existed on the Railways for various purposes have been merged into one helpline i.e. 139 which can be used for all enquiry needs and for complaint making
- 139 Helpline facility is available round the clock in 12 languages.
Rameshwar Teli launched the ONGC supported handicraft project "Ujjwal Abahan".
- Shri Rameshwar Teli, Minister of State (MoS), Petroleum & Natural Gas and Ministry of Labor & Employment launched the ONGC supported Assam Handloom Initiative.
- Under this project, more than a hundred artisans from Bhatiapar in Sivasagar district of Assam will be assisted and trained in handloom handicrafts.
- The project is being run as part of the government's Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, under which ONGC has previously undertaken two projects supporting indigenous handicrafts of the country.
