India's 1st emergency landing facility on National Highway in Rajasthan.
- Union Defense Minister, Rajnath Singh and Union Highways Minister, Nitin Gadkari inaugurated an emergency landing facility on a national highway in Rajasthan.
- This emergency landing facility has been constructed on the Satta-Gandhav section of National Highway (NH) 925A in Barmer, Rajasthan.
- On this occasion, a C-130J Super Hercules transport aircraft of the Indian Air Force (IAF) landed in the emergency area on the National Highway in Jalore, Rajasthan.
- This is the first time; a National Highway will be used for emergency landing of IAF aircraft.
BHEL inaugurated India's 1st high ash coal gasification based methanol production plant in Hyderabad.
- The first indigenously designed high ash coal gasification based methanol production plant in India has been inaugurated at BHEL R&D Center in Hyderabad.
- The project was funded by the Department of Science and Technology, which provided a grant of Rs 10 crore at the initiative of NITI Aayog, PMO-India and the Ministry of Coal.
- Methanol is used as a motor fuel, to power ship engines, and to generate clean energy all over the world.
- Methanol is also used to generate di-methyl ether (DME), a liquid fuel similar to diesel – existing diesel engines need to be changed minimally to use DME instead of diesel.
IIT Madras has retained the top position in the overall category of NIRF India Rankings 2021.
- The Union Minister for Education, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan released the NIRF India Rankings 2021 on September 09, 2021 through video conferencing.
- Categories: NIRF India Rankings 2021 has been announced for eleven categories which, in aggregate, are Universities, Management, Colleges, Pharmacy, Medical, Engineering, Architecture, Dentistry, Law and Research Institutes.
- Research Institution category has been included for the first time in India Ranking 2021.
- The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) ranking is released by the Ministry of Education.
- It was launched in 2015 and the first annual ranking list was released in 2016.

ADB approves $112 million loan to improve water supply infrastructure in Jharkhand.
- Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Government of India have signed a USD 112 million loan to develop water supply infrastructure
- And strengthen capacities of urban local bodies (ULBs) for improved service delivery in four towns in the state of Jharkhand.
- This is the first project of ADB in the state of Jharkhand.
Center constituted a committee under the chairmanship of Dr VG Somani to frame a new law for drugs, cosmetics and medical devices.
- The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has constituted an 8-member expert committee to frame new laws for drugs, cosmetics and medical devices and replace the existing Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940.
- The panel is headed by Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) Dr VG Somani.
- The Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 only regulates the import, manufacture, distribution and sale of drugs and cosmetics.
- Regulation of medical devices will also be included in the new Drugs, Cosmetics and Medical Devices Act.
