The government adds dairy products under the TMA scheme to specified agricultural products.
- The Department of Commerce (under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry) had launched the Transportation and Marketing Assistance (TMA) for specified agricultural produce scheme in 2019.
- The objective of the TMA was to provide support for the international component of freight traffic to reduce freight costs for exporters of Indian agricultural products.
- Now the department has notified Revised Transport and Marketing Assistance (TMA) for Specified Agricultural Produce Scheme for exports on or after 01.04.2021 with effect from 31.03.2022.
- There are two major changes in the revised scheme:
- Dairy products will now be eligible for assistance under the revised scheme.
- The rates of assistance have been increased by 50% for exports by sea and by 100% for exports by air.
PM Modi inaugurated Sardardham Bhawan in Ahmedabad.
- The state-of-the-art Sardardham Bhawan offers separate hostel facilities to girls and boys from rural areas who aspire to better career prospects.
- The first phase of the Sardardham Bhawan project has been built on an area of 11,672 sq ft near Vaishnodevi circle in the Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar border area, at an estimated cost of Rs 200 crore.
- It will house 1,600 students, including 800 boys and 800 girls.
- The Phase II of Sardardham project is expected to house around 2,000 girl students. The project will be built at the cost of another Rs 200 crore.
- Both these establishments are dedicated to the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
- The project is developed by the Vishwa Patidar Samaj.
Poet Subramania Bharati's Death Anniversary Declared As "Mahakavi" Day In Tamil Nadu.
- The Tamil Nadu govt will observe September 11, the death anniversary of firebrand poet and freedom fighter Subramaniam Bharathi, as Mahakavi Day.
- A state level poetry competition will be organized for school and college students and Bharti Yuva Kavi Puraskar will be given with a purse of ₹ 1 lakh.
- The govt is planning to celebrate the 100th death anniversary of poets whose works ignited patriotism and left an indelible mark on Tamil literature.
GC Murmu elected as the President of ASOSAI for 2024-2027.
- Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India GC Murmu has appointed as the new Speaker of the Assembly of the Asian Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI) for a period of three years from 2024-27.
- Mr. Murmu was elected to the post on September 07, 2021 by the 56th Governing Board of ASOSAI during the 15th Legislative Assembly of ASOSAI.
- India will host the 16th Assembly of ASOSAI in 2024.
- As Chairman, GC Murmu will be the Chief Executive of ASOSAI and will represent ASOSAI in its dealings with national and international organizations.
Jyotiraditya Scindia has announced a 100 day plan for the civil aviation sector of India.
- The minister also unveiled policy measures and development of airports and heliports.
- The scheme will focus on 16 sectors. Of these, 8 are related to policy and 4 are related to reforms.
- Under the scheme, six heliports will be developed in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand under the regional air connectivity scheme called UDAN.
- The minister also announced a new policy for Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) activities.
- Under the 100-day target, the three main foundations are infrastructure, policy targets and reform initiatives.
- Under this, four airports will be operated or better developed.
