  • Union Home Minister Amit Shah laid the foundation stone of Rani Gaidinliu Tribal Freedom Fighters Museum in Manipur through video conferencing on November 22, 2021.
  • The museum will be set up in Luangkao village of Manipur's Tamenglong district, which is the birthplace of freedom fighter Rani Gaidinliu.
  • The proposed museum is being set up by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs at an estimated cost of Rs 15 crore.



ICICI Bank launches "Trade Emerge", an online platform for exporters and importers.

  • Private sector lender ICICI Bank has launched an online platform called Trade Emerge to provide digital banking and value-added services to Indian exporters and importers.
  • The cross border trade will become hassle-free, expeditious and convenient with Trade Emerge because an array of services are being offered in one place so companies will not require to coordinate with multiple touchpoints.
  • Exporters and importers who are not customers of ICICI Bank can also take advantage of this platform.



India and the World Bank signed a $250 million loan agreement to improve the quality of education in Andhra Pradesh.

  • The Government of India, the Government of Andhra Pradesh and the World Bank on 18 November 2021 signed legal agreements worth $250 million for a project.
  • It aims to improve the quality of learning for over 5 million students in the state of Andhra Pradesh.
  • More than 50 lakh students from all grades and stages of school education will be benefitted by this project, titled Supporting Andhra's Learning Transformation Project.



Abhijit Banerjee wrote the book "Cooking to Save Your Life".

  • Indian-American economist and Nobel laureate, Abhijit Banerjee has written a new book titled "Cooking to Save Your Life.
  • The book, illustrated by France-based illustrator Cheyenne Oliver, is published by Juggernaut Books.
  • He won the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences in 2019 along with Esther Duflo and Michael Kremer for their experimental approach to alleviating global poverty.



Doordarshan and AIR won at UNESCO-ABU Peace Media Awards 2021.

  • The TV show produced by Doordarshan and the radio show by All India Radio recently received several awards at the ABU - UNESCO Peace Media Awards-2021 held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
  • The awards were given by UNESCO under the Together for Peace (T4P) initiative in collaboration with the Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union.
  • The ABU-UNESCO T4P Media Awards highlight and promote the critical role of independent, ethical journalism and citizens' media literacy in building positive peace in the human mind.
