The name of Jhansi railway station in UP has been changed to "Veerangana Laxmibai Railway Station".
- UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced this in a tweet in Hindi and said The Jhansi Railway station will now be known as Veerangana Laxmibai Railway Station.
- Govt renamed Mughalsarai Railway station as Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya junction and the Faizabad Railway station as Ayodhya Cantt.
PM Modi laid the foundation stone for projects worth over Rs 17,500 crore.
- PM Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of projects worth over Rs 17,500 crore in Haldwani city of Kumaon region of Uttarakhand on 30 December 2021.
- The projects also include three different stretches of Chardham All Weather Road that have been widened, Nagina-Kashipur National Highway, Suringgarh Hydroelectric Project and sewage works under Namami Gange Program in Nainital.
- Government has also launched a Rs 2,000 crore scheme for development of Haldwani's overall infrastructure for water, sewage, roads, parking, street lights.
China launched a 5-year plan to become the center of world robotics innovation.
- China has announced a five-year roadmap to achieve its goal of becoming a global robotics innovation hub by the year 2025.
- China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology revealed operating income from the country’s robotics industry is expected to grow by around 20% per year between 2021 and 2025.
- From 2016 to 2020, the sector expanded at an average growth rate of 15%. Last year, operating income surpassed 100 billion yuan ($15.69 billion) for the first time.
- To achieve its goal of becoming a worldwide robotics innovation center by 2025, China has proposed a strategy focusing on improving essential components such as servo motors and control panels.
- According to the 2021 World Robot Report, South Korea, Singapore and Japan were the top three most automated countries in the Asia-Pacific.
The Indian Army established the Quantum Lab at the MCTE at the War Military Headquarters.
- Indian Army has set up Quantum Lab at Military College of Telecommunication Engineering (MCTE) at Military Headquarters Yudh (Mhow), Indore, Madhya Pradesh.
- The Indian Army's research in the field of quantum technology will help leapfrog into next generation communications and transform the current system of cryptography into Post Quantum Cryptography (PQC) in the Indian Armed Forces.
- Major areas include quantum computing, quantum key distribution, quantum communication and post-quantum cryptography.
ITBP DG Sanjay Arora has been given additional charge of SSB DG.
- The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has given the additional charge as DG of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) to ITBP Director General (DG) Sanjay Arora.
- ITBP Director General (DG) Sanjay Arora has replaced Kumar Rajesh Chandra.
- Kumar Rajesh is a 1985-batch IPS officer of the Bihar cadre and took charge as the SSB DG in January 2019 and superannuated on December 31, 2021.
- Arora will serve as SSB DG till the appointment and joining of the regular incumbent or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
