Lepakshi Nandi, Veerabhadra temple on UNESCO World Heritage tentative list.
- The Sri Veerabhadra Swamy temple was placed on the UNESCO World Heritage tentative list with the Monolithic Bull (Nandi) at Lepakshi, Andhra Pradesh.
- The Sri Veerabhadra Swamy temple is also known as the Lepakshi temple is dedicated to Veerabhadra (Shiva).
- The temple is known for the Vijayanagara sculpture and mural painting on the ceiling as traditional art.

Anurag Thakur launches logo, mascot jersey & anthem of Khelo India University Games 2021.
- The Governor of Karnataka, Shri TC Gehlot, Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Shri Anurag Singh Thakur and several dignitaries launched the logo, jersey, mascot and anthem of the Khelo India University Games 2021 (KIUG 2021) at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium on April 01, 2022.
- The theme song has been composed by Kannada rapper Chandan Shetty.
- The KIUG 2021 will be held in Karnataka between April 24 and May 3, 2022.
- This will be the 2nd edition of KIUG.
- The first edition was hosted by Odisha in 2020.
- A Khelo India App for live updates on the Games has also been launched by Karnataka.
- Around 4500 athletes, representing 20 sports from across the country will participate in the KIUG 2021.
Dr. S Raju takes charge as Director General of Geological Survey of India.
- Dr. S Raju has taken over as the Director General of Geological Survey of India (GSI) with effect from April 01, 2022.
- He succeeds Shri R. S. Garkhal who superannuated on March 31, 2022.
- Prior to this, Dr. Raju was holding the post of Additional Director General and National Head, Mission-III & IV at GSI HQ.
- GSI is a scientific agency of Government of India. It was founded in 1851. Its headquarter is in Kolkata.
CJI NV Ramana launches software "FASTER" for electronic delivery of orders.
- The Chief Justice of India (CJI) NV Ramana launched a software named as Fast and Secured Transmission of Electronic Records (FASTER) on March 31, 2022.
- The objective of this FASTER software is to transmit court orders securely and swiftly through electronic mode, for quicker communication of judicial orders.
- Through FASTER platform court officials would be able to instantly send e-copies of the orders through a secured electronic communication channel to intended parties.
- The initiative would thereby reduce the time that prisons and other authorities have to spend waiting for authenticated interim orders, stay orders, bail orders etc., of the Supreme Court, while also ensuring privacy and security.
Axis Bank takes Citibank’s India consumer business in a Rs 12,325 crores.
- Citigroup has announced that Axis Bank will be acquiring Citibank’s India consumer business for an amount of USD 1.6 billion (Rs 12,325 crores) in an all-cash deal.
- This transaction will be including Citibank India’s consumer banking businesses, which include retail banking, credit cards, consumer loans, and wealth management.
