PM Modi inaugurated Global Ayush Investment & Innovation Summit 2022.

  • PM Shri Narendra Modi will open the Global Ayush Investment & Innovation Summit 2022 at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
  • The three-day conference will bring together key policymakers, entrepreneurs, investors, startups, and other national and international players to discuss innovation and how India can become a global Ayush destination for entrepreneurship.
  • The Prime Minister of Mauritius Pravind Kumar Jugnauth and Director-General of World Health Organization Dr. Tedros Ghebreyesus were also present on this occasion.
  • The global ayush investment and innovation conference 2022 will have 5 plenary sessions, 8 roundtables, 6 seminars, and 2 symposiums over the course of three days.
  • The event, which will take place in several phases from April 20 to 22, 2022.
  • It will promote global awareness of Ayush education, research, innovation, entrepreneurship, and long-term health across all Ayush systems.



Manappuram Finance fined Rs 17.63 lakh by the RBI for failing to comply with KYC regulations.

  • Manappuram Finance Limited was fined Rs 17.63 lakh by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for failing to comply with Know Your Customer (KYC) and Prepaid Payment Instruments regulations (PPIs).
  • This action is based on regulatory compliance issues and is not meant to be a judgement on the validity of any transaction or agreement the organisation has with its consumers.
  • The entity was found to be in violation of RBI instructions on KYC and minor PPI standards.
  • As a result, the entity was given notice to show cause why a penalty should not be applied for failing to follow the orders.



J&K launched "Jan Nigrani" app to help people lodge complaints.

  • The rural development and panchayati raj department of Jammu and Kashmir administration on Tuesday launched a mobile application to help people lodge complaints related to various schemes online.
  • The Jan Nigrani app is a 24×7 internet-based platform aimed at reporting and resolving the grievances of the residents of J&K, against various government schemes launched by the department.
  • Jan Nigrani app is an internet-based solution for reporting and resolution of grievances against various Govt schemes from registered residents of UT of J&K.
  • It will make a single link between the residents and the officials to map concerned authorities related to the complaint about faster grievance redressal.



Lt Gen. Manoj Kumar Katiyar named as next DG of Military Operations.

  • Lieutenant General Manoj Kumar Katiyar has been appointed as the next Director-General of Military Operations.
  • He would take charge of the new office on May 1st.
  • An alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Lieutenant General Katiyar was commissioned in the 23rd Battalion of the Rajput Regiment in June 1986.
  • He was posted as Director of General Staff Duties at Army Headquarters.
  • He also commanded an infantry brigade along the Western borders and a mountain division.
  • Besides attending the National Defence College, New Delhi, he is also a distinguished graduate of the National War College, USA.
  • He served as an instructor in the Indian Military Training Team in Bhutan and at the Defence Services Staff College, Wellington.



Surat hosts the "Smart Cities, Smart Urbanization" conference.

  • The three-day Smart Cities, Smart Urbanization conference kicked off today in Surat.
  • Under the clarion call of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM), given by Hon’ble Prime Minister to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Independence, the event is being organised by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), Government of India, in collaboration with Surat Smart City Corporation Development Ltd.
  • However, because to the COVID-19 scenario at the time, the prize distribution ceremony was postponed.
  • The Best City award went to Surat and Indore, and the Best State award went to Uttar Pradesh.
