OneWeb ties up with ISRO arm New Space India Limited (NSIL) for satellite launch.

  • Bharti-backed OneWeb has inked an agreement with New Space India Ltd (NSIL), the commercial arm of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), to launch its low-earth orbit (LEO) satellites.
  • The first launch with NSIL is likely this year from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC)-SHAR, Sriharikota.
  • OneWeb plans to have a constellation of 650 satellites in low-earth orbit to offer communication services.



BHIM UPI goes live at NEOPAY terminals in UAE.

  • NPCI International Payments Ltd has announced that BHIM UPI is now live at NEOPAY terminals, across the UAE.
  • This initiative will empower millions of Indians who travel to the UAE to safely and conveniently make payments using BHIM UPI across NEOPAY-enabled shops and merchant stores.
  • NIPL and NEOPAY partnered last year, to create the acceptance infrastructure in the UAE.
  • NIPL is the International arm of the NPCI.

  • According to the which all metropolitan cities with a population above 40 lakh will be prioritized for the development of battery swapping network under the first phase.
  • All major cities such as state capitals, UT headquarters, and cities with populations above 5 lakh will be covered under the second phase.
  • Importance has been given to the two-wheeler and three-wheeler vehicle segments in growing cities.



US firm Viability Electric Inc announces to set up world's largest electric 3-wheeler plant in Telangana.

  • Biliti Electric Inc (Biliti), based in California, United States of America, has announced its intention to establish the world’s largest electric three-wheeler manufacturing facility in Telangana.
  • The plant will be built in 2 phases over an area of 200 acres.
  • Phase I of 13.5 acres with a capacity to produce 18000 Electric Vehicles (EV) per year will become operational in 2023.
  • And the larger facility of 200 acres with a production capacity of 240000 EV per year will become operational in 2024.
