Indian’s INS Satpura and Boeing P8I aircraft ready to participate in RIMPAC-22.
- INS Satpura entered Pearl Harbour in Hawaii Islands to participate in RIMPAC-22.
- INS Satpura and one P8I maritime patrol aircraft from the Indian Navy are participating in one of the largest multilateral Naval Exercises, the US Navy-led biennial Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) exercise 2022.
- The exercise spanning over six weeks of intense operations and training is aimed at enhancing interoperability and building trust among Navies of friendly foreign countries.
- 27 countries are participating in the current edition of the multi-dimensional exercise.
- INS Satpura is an indigenously designed and built 6000-tonne guided missile stealth frigate equipped to seek and destroy adversaries in air, surface and underwater.
India's 1st indigenously developed mRNA vaccine GEMCOVAC™-19 gets DCGI nod.
- India’s first indigenously developed mRNA vaccine against the COVID-19 gets the Emergency Use Authorization (EUA), to be sold under the brand name GEMCOVAC™-19 and will be rolled out soon.
- The vaccine will be available for adults above 18 years of age.
- It is a two-dose vaccine to be administered intramuscularly at 28 days apart.
- GEMCOVAC-19™ is the very first mRNA vaccine developed in India and the only third mRNA vaccine to be approved for COVID-19 in the world.
- It is developed by The Pune-based subsidiary of Emcure Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Gennova Biopharmaceuticals Ltd.
"Abhyaas" designed and developed by DRDO's Aeronautical Development Establishment successfully test-fired from ITR in Chandipur off the Odisha coast.
- India successfully flight-tested the indigenously developed high-speed expendable aerial target (HEAT), ABHYAS, from the Integrated Test Range (ITR) in Chandipur off the Odisha coast.
- ABHYAS is designed and developed by Aeronautical Development Establishment of DRDO.
- The aircraft is programmed for a fully autonomous flight, meaning that it flies under the control of automatic systems and needs no intervention from a human pilot.
- India also test-fired the Vertical Launch Short Range Surface to Air Missile (VL-SRSAM) in Chandipur last week.

- Union Minister of Tribal Affairs, Arjun Munda has launched the second phase of the Going Online As Leaders (GOAL) Programme in New Delhi.
- The GOAL 1.0 has changed the lives of tribal youth through the digital mentorship programme.
- This programme will also create a platform for Self-Help Groups and ten lakh families associated with TRIFED to take their products global.
- Aim: To digitally upskill the youth from tribal communities of the country.
