Bengaluru tops in Indian cities in "Asia Pacific Sustainability Index 2021".
- Four Indian cities--Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad and Mumbai--made it to the list of top 20 sustainable cities, as per the Asia Pacific Sustainability Index 2021.
- Singapore, Sydney, Wellington, Perth, and Melbourne were the top five green-rated cities in commercial real estate in the Asia-Pacific region.
- Bengaluru led the sustainability index amongst the top Indian cities and ranked 14th in the APAC region.
- Bengaluru was the only Indian city to achieve the Gold standard category.
- Delhi ranked second amongst the Indian cities (ranked 17th in the APAC region) followed by Hyderabad (ranked 18th) and Mumbai (ranked 20th).
Mumbai tops in Indian cities according to "Mercer's 2022 Cost of Living Survey".
- In India, Mumbai is the most expensive city for expats, in terms of both living expenses and accommodation costs, followed by New Delhi, according to Mercer's 2022 Cost of Living survey.
- However, these two Indian metro cities are cost-effective globally, as per the survey.
- Mumbai featuring at number 127 globally is the costliest city in India for expatriates in terms of both living expenses and accommodation costs followed by New Delhi (155), Chennai (177), Bengaluru (178) and Hyderabad (192).
- While Pune at number 201 and Kolkata at 203 are the least expensive Indian cities in the ranking.
- Globally, Hong Kong ranked first followed by Zurich, Geneva, Basel, Bern, Tel Aviv etc.
Andhra Pradesh tops Business Reform Action Plan (BRAP) ranking of states 2020.
- Andhra Pradesh has topped the 5th edition of the Business Reform Action Plan (BRAP) ranking of states and Union Territories for 2020. It is also known as The Ease of Doing Business rankings.
- The ranking was announced by Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, Union Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs on June 30, 2022.
The ranking is done by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry.
- The BRAP represents the Ease of Doing Business in any state.
- Till date, State Rankings have been released for the years 2015, 2016, 2017-18, 2019 and 2022.
Sandeep Kumar Gupta to be the next chairman of gas transmission and gas marketing company GAIL.
- Sandeep Kumar Gupta, Director for Finance at Indian Oil Corporation, has been picked to head India's largest gas utility GAIL (India) Ltd.
- The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) selected Gupta, 56, for the post of chairman and managing director of GAIL after interviewing 10 candidates.
- He will replace Manoj Jain, who is scheduled to retire on August 31.
- GAIL is India's largest gas transmission and gas marketing company.
Neeraj Chopra won silver medal in Diamond League 2022 held in Stockholm.
- Tokyo Olympic Gold Medalist Neeraj Chopra has clinched silver medal in Diamond League 2022.
- Neeraj Chopra in the Diamond League in Stockholm threw 89.94 meters and while doing so he broke his own National Record.
- The Olympic Champion, Neeraj Chopra finished second to the World Champion Anderson Peters.
- It was the first time that Neeraj Chopra had finished in the top three in a Diamond League event.
- Peters won the Gold Medal while Julian Weber of Germany bagged the Bronze Medal after throwing 89.08 m in his fifth attempt.
