UP CM flags off 51 buses to be operated exclusively by women.

• Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath flags off new buses, commanded by women drivers, on the occasion of ‘Maha Ashtami’ during the Navratri festival, in Ayodhya.
• These buses will be operated exclusively by women as drivers and conductors.
• The initiative seeks to connect and empower women drivers and conductors.

Piyush Goyal to attend 7th "Future Investment Initiative" in Riyadh.

• Union Minister Sh. Piyush Goyal is attending the 7th Edition of Future Investment Initiative (FII) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia from 24th to 25th October 2023.
• Mr. Goyal will co-chair a conclave session on the theme From Risk to Opportunity: Strategies for Emerging Economies in the New Industrial Policy Era along with the KSA Investment Minister.
• He will interact with the Indian community that forms an influential part of the Saudi economy.

EAM S. Jaishankar meets IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi.

• External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar and International Atomic Energy Agency's (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi discussed the developmental significance of nuclear energy.
• They exchanged views on non-proliferation and international cooperation.
• The IAEA is the world's centre for cooperation in the nuclear field, promoting the safe, secure, and peaceful use of nuclear technology.

India ranked 64th in the recently released Global Remote Work Index.

• The Global Remote Work Index was released by European cyber security company Nordlayer in October 2023.
• A total of 108 countries have been ranked in this index.
• India's rank among these 108 countries is 64th.
• The company attributed India's decline in rank to the low level of digital and physical infrastructure in India.
• This index is prepared on the basis of 4 indicators.
• In this index, Denmark is first, Netherlands is second, Germany is third and Spain is fourth.
• No Asian country is included in the top 10.

Multilateral joint naval exercise, MILAN, 2024 will be organized in Visakhapatnam.

• The Indian Navy has recently announced that the multilateral joint naval exercise, MILAN, 2024 will be conducted at Visakhapatnam.
• MILAN – 2024 will be held in February, 2024.
• It will be organized by the Eastern Command of the Indian Navy.
• Indian Naval units along with allied ships, maritime patrol aircraft and submarines will participate in the sea phase.
• These will include large-scale maneuvers, advanced air defense operations, anti-submarine warfare and anti-surface warfare operations.
• Navies of more than 50 countries will participate in this exercise.
• MILAN joint military exercise is conducted by the Indian Navy every 2 years.
