Goa awarded "Best Destination of the Year" at ITB Berlin.

• Goa has been awarded The Best Destination of the Year by the Pacific Area Travel Writers' Association at the ITB Berlin Convention.
• Sanjeev Ahuja, the Secretary of Goa Tourism, received the award.
• The ITB Berlin Convention took place between March 5 and 7 at the Berlin Exhibition Grounds with the motto 'Pioneer the Transition in Travel and Tourism Together'

Panama becomes 97th member to ratify the International Solar Alliance.

• The announcement was made by Randhir Jaiswal, spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
• Moreover, on March 5, Malta became the 119th country to join the International Solar Alliance.
• ISA was conceived as a joint effort by India and France. Currently, 116 countries are signatories to the ISA Framework Agreement.

World's largest literary festival-"Sahityotsav" to be held in Delhi..

• The festival commemorates 70 years of Sahitya Akademi and will feature the participation of over a hundred renowned writers and scholars.
• The highlight of the festival will be the presentation ceremony of the Sahitya Akademi Awards 2023, which will be held on March 12th at New Delhi’s Kamani Auditorium.
• The Chief Guest for the ceremony will be distinguished Odia writer Pratibha Rai.

Cabinet approves Minimum Support Price for Raw Jute for 2024-25 Season.

• The MSP for Raw Jute (TDN-3 equivalent to earlier TD-5 grade) has been fixed at Rs.5,335/- per quintal for the upcoming season.
• The announced MSP ensures a return of 64.8 percent over the all India weighted average cost of production.
• The recommendation for the MSP was made by the Commission for Agricultural Costs and Prices (CACP).

Sweden formally joins NATO military alliance.

• Sweden officially joined NATO as its 32nd member on March 7, 2024, almost two years after first applying.
• The Swedish government held an extraordinary meeting to vote on joining NATO after receiving approval from all current members.
• Finland became an official NATO member last April, prompted by concerns over Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
