Ratan Tata honored with KISS Humanitarian Award.

• Renowned industrialist and philanthropist Ratan Tata, Chairman Emeritus of the Tata Group, was bestowed with the prestigious KISS Humanitarian Award 2021.
• The award ceremony saw the presentation of the award by the Founder of Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) and Kalinga Iistitute of Social Sciences (KISS), Dr. Achyuta Samanta.

PhD can be pursued after a 4-year bachelor's degrees with 75% marks.

• UGC Chairman Jagadesh Kumar announced that candidates seeking to pursue a PhD must attain a minimum of 75% marks or equivalent scores in their undergraduate course.
• Previously, candidates applying for the National Eligibility Test (NET) were required to hold a master's degree with a minimum of 55 percent marks.
• A relaxation of 5% marks may be allowed for those belonging to SC, ST, and OBC.

Dr. Pavuluri Subba Rao received ASI’s Aryabhata Award.

• Ananth Technologies CEO and Chairman Dr. Pavuluri Subba Rao has been conferred with the Aeronautical Society of India's Arybhata award.
• The Aryabhata Award is in recognition of Dr. Rao’s tremendous lifetime contribution to the promotion of Astronautics in India.
• Dr. Rao was a scientist at ISRO and in 1992 incorporated Ananth Technologies Limited.

Naima Khatoon, Aligarh Muslim University’s 1st woman vice chancellor.

• She is appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of the Aligarh Muslim University for five (5) years from the date on which she enters her office.
• The university did not have a full-time vice chancellor since April 2023 when her predecessor Tariq Mansoor’s term ended.
• She has been serving as principal of AMU’s women’s college since 2016.

Medanta Gurugram topped in Newsweek’s World's Best Hospitals 2024.

• Medanta Gurugram has been named the best private hospital in India for the 5th consecutive year and has been ranked in the top 250 hospitals globally.
• Newsweek’s rankings have assessed over 2,400 hospitals in 30 countries based on measures of quality and safety.
• The rankings have been determined by feedback from 85,000 medical experts, patient surveys, and public data analyses.
