Uttarakhand CM launched "Pirul Lao-Paise Pao" to combat forest fires.

• Uttarakhand's CM Pushkar Singh Dhami initiated Pirul Lao-Paise Pao campaign in Rudraprayag to mitigate forest fires by incentivizing collection of Pine leaves.
• To prevent fires, locals will gather forest Pine leaves (Pirul), weigh them, get Rs 50/kg directly into their accounts from collection centers.

Setu unveiled Sesame, India's 1st domain-specific LLM for BFSI sector.

• Setu, a leading Indian fintech company and part of the Pine Labs Group, unveiled Sesame, India’s first Large Language Model (LLM) specifically designed for the banking, financial services, and insurance (BFSI) sector.
• It has been developed with indigenous AI research firm Sarvam AI.
• A LLM is a computational model which can achieve general-purpose language generation and classification tasks.

Global Wealth Report: Mumbai and Delhi among top 50 wealthiest cities.

• The 2024 World’s Wealthiest Cities Report released by Henley & Partners and New World Wealth.
• Mumbai, ranked 24th, and Delhi, secured the 37th Spot, on the list out of 50. Bengaluru Ranked 9th among the cities to watch.

Sri Lanka extends visa-free entry for Indian visitors.

• Sri Lanka extends visa-free entry until May 31, 2024, for India and selected countries to bolster tourism and facilitate international travel.
• This decision, approved by the country’s Cabinet, allows nationals from India, China, Russia, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia.
• The free visa has a validity period of 30 days.

India becomes the 3rd country in the world with 1 million Uber driver.

• India has become the third country, following the US and Brazil, to achieve the milestone of 1 million drivers.
• Uber witnessed a 15% surge in global revenue on 31 March 2024, from the previous year, reaching $10.13 billion.
• In February 2024, Uber signed a MoU with ONDC to broaden the spectrum of mobility options available on the Uber app.
