India becomes first country to prepare entire Fauna Checklist.

• India has become the first country to compile a comprehensive checklist of its entire fauna, encompassing 104,561 species, as announced by Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav at the Animal Taxonomy Summit-2024.
• The summit, organized by Zoological Survey of IndiaI, focused on Taxonomy, Systematics and Evolution, Ecology and Animal Behavior, and Biodiversity & Conservation.

MoSPI launched eSankhyiki Portal for Enhanced Data Access.

• The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) launched the eSankhyiki portal to improve data access and user experience.
• The Data Catalogue Module of the portal catalogs major data assets, including over 2291 datasets with metadata and visualization for ease of access and reusability, covering 7 key data products like National Accounts Statistics and Consumer Price Index.

INS Shivalik participates in Ex. RIMPAC-24 at Pearl Harbour.

• The Rim of the Pacific Exercise (RIMPAC) is the world's largest international maritime warfare exercise.
• It is hosted and administered by the United States Navy's Indo-Pacific Command, headquartered at Pearl Harbor.
• Led by the US Navy, approx 29 countries are participating in the current edition of the multi-dimensional exercise.
• INS Shivalik is an indigenous guided missile stealth frigate.

Kohli, Rohit, Jadeja retired from T20Is after India’s World Cup Win.

• India broke their 13-year World Cup drought after defeating first-time finalists South Africa by seven runs in the 2024 T20 World Cup final.
• Kohli exits T20Is with a record of 4,188 runs in 125 matches, boasting an average of 48.69, including 38 half-centuries.
• Rohit Sharma, ends his T20I career with 4,231 runs in 159 matches. He holds the record for the most centuries in T20 internationals.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan launched Portal for Faster Bank Settlements.

• Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan launched a web portal developed by the Department of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare (DA&FW) and NABARD to automate and expedite the settlement of interest subvention claims under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF).
• The portal aims to streamline the process for banks, ensuring quicker settlements and improved efficiency.
