World's Most Affordable Countries For Immigrants In 2024.

• A recent report by InterNations released the most affordable countries for immigrants in 2024 in the Personal Finance Index category.
• Vietnam has been crowned the most affordable destination for immigrants for the third year in a row.
• Top 10 countries: Vietnam, Colombia, Indonesia, Panama, Philippines, India, Mexico, Thailand, Brazil, China.
• 6 of the top 10 countries are located in Asia.

A University For Disabled Students Will Be Established In Jharkhand.

• 1st university in eastern India for disabled students to be established in Ranchi.
• Education Minister Champai Soren directs improvements in education infrastructure and reviews the progress of the Pandit Raghunath Murmu Tribal University in Jamshedpur.
• Navothan Scholarship Scheme proposed to cover full course fees and provide financial assistance for meritorious orphan and disabled students.

Nagaland won Agriculture Leadership Awards 2024 in New Delhi.

• Nagaland was awarded for outstanding horticulture development at the 15th Agriculture Leadership Conclave.
• Minister Salhoutuonuo Kruse received the award for innovative programs and policies.
• Achievements include GI registration for Naga Mircha, Naga Tree Tomato, and Naga Sweet Cucumber, along with the formation of 13 Farmer Producer Companies and 6,800 hectares under organic certification.

GeM Purchases Cross Rs 1.24 Lakh Cr, Set to Become Largest Platform.

• GeM recorded Rs 1.24 lakh crore in purchases in Q1 FY 2024-25, with a 136% increase in gross merchandise value compared to last year.
• Central ministries, including Coal, Defence, and Petroleum, led the procurement, surpassing Rs 1 lakh crore in purchases.

BSF, CISF reaffirms 10% CAPFs reservation for Agniveers.

• The first batch of Agniveers will be eligible for recruitment in CAPFs such as CISF, BSF, CRPF, ITBP, SSB and Assam Rifles in 2026.
• Candidates between the age of 17.5 years to 21 years will be eligible for enrolling in the Agnipath scheme.
• Only 25% of Agniveers who are absorbed into the forces after 4 years will receive pension.
• The dropouts will be eligible for reservation in CAPFs.
