India is now World’s third largest Producer and Consumer of Ethanol.

• India's Food Minister Pralhad Joshi announced that India is now the world’s third-largest ethanol producer and consumer.
• At the India Sugar and Bio-Energy conference, he highlighted a 40% increase in sugarcane production over the past decade.
• Last Year, National Green Hydrogen launched with an outlay of 19 thousand 744 crore rupees to make India a global hub.

India climbs to 39th rank in Global Innovation Index 2024.

• India has risen to 39th position among 133 global economies in the Global Innovation Index 2024.
• India has climbed from 81st in 2015 to 39th in 2024 among 133 economies.
• In the Global Innovation Index, India is the first among ten economies in Central and Southern Asia.
• It is also the first among lower-middle-income economies.

Centre revises minimum wage rates based on skills and Geo locations.

• The central government has announced an increase in minimum wage rates by revising the Variable Dearness Allowance.
• The new wage rates will take effect from the 1st of next month.
• The minimum wage rates are categorized based on skill levels-unskilled, semi-skilled, skilled, and highly skilled, as well as by geographical areas A, B, and C.

Manipur’s Andro village: Best Heritage Tourism Village of 2024.

• The Andro Village of Manipur has been conferred the prestigious award of one of the Best Tourism Village in Heritage category in the 2024 edition of the Best Tourism Villages Competition organised by the Ministry of Tourism.
• The village’s unique cultural heritage includes the centuries old fire worship which attracts tourists from various parts of the world.

Ministry of Tourism launched Incredible India Content Hub.

• The Ministry of Tourism launched this on its revamped digital portal, offering 5,000+ tourism-related assets like images, films, and brochures.
• The Hub is designed for tour operators, journalists, researchers, and others to access and promote Indian tourism globally.
• Content is a collaboration of the Ministry of Tourism, Archaeological Survey of India, and Ministry of Culture.
