C-DOT, Synergy Quantum Pact for Cybersecurity.

• Centre for Development of Telematics signs agreement with Synergy Quantum India Private Ltd. to develop tool detecting quantum-vulnerable cryptographic algorithms.
• Tool will scan devices, identify security mechanisms and classify algorithms as quantum-safe or vulnerable.
• Initiative strengthens cybersecurity readiness across defence, telecom, banking and govt systems against quantum threats.

• PM Modi inaugurated Kumar Bhaskar Varma Setu over Brahmaputra River in Guwahati, Assam.

RBI Eases Norms for Acquisition Financing.

• Reserve Bank of India allows banks to finance acquisitions up to 20% of eligible capital base, raising limit from earlier proposed 10%.
• Banks can lend up to 75% of acquisition value for listed and unlisted companies via equity or compulsorily convertible debentures (CCDs).
• The move opens new credit growth avenues and aligns Indian banks with global acquisition financing practices.

Climate Change, Pollution Stripping Vibrant Colours from Coral Reefs.

• Coral bleaching occurs when corals expel symbiotic zooxanthellae under thermal & pollution stress.
• Marine heatwaves stress corals & impair zooxanthellae (dinoflagellates that provide photosynthetically fixed carbon to corals) function rather than enhancing photosynthetic efficiency, increasing bleaching susceptibility.
• Eutrophication-driven algal blooms reduce water clarity & dissolved oxygen.
