Operation Chakra-VI Launched by CBI to Combat Digital Arrest Fraud.

• CBI launched Operation Chakra-VI on 25 June 2026 against digital arrest fraud networks.
• Conducted raids at 80+ locations across 16 states.
• Around 60 special teams participated in the operation.
• Two persons were arrested for running shell companies and mule bank accounts.
• The fraud network allegedly laundered around ₹2 crore.
• Fraudsters used fake websites, forged documents, and fake court orders to carry out digital arrest scams.
• CBI was established in 1963 and is headquartered in New Delhi.

Centre Sanctions ₹530 Crore for Chennai Intelligent Transport System.

• Centre approved ₹530 crore for the Chennai Intelligent Transport System project.
• Project aims to modernize traffic management in Chennai.
• Supported by a loan from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
• Includes Traffic Information and Management System (TIMS) and city bus system upgrades.
• Command Control Centres will be established for Chennai Traffic Police.
• Adaptive traffic signals to be installed at 165 junctions.
• System expected to become fully operational by August 2026.

Andhra Pradesh Approves Policy for Reuse of Treated Wastewater.

• AP approved the Policy on Reuse of Treated Used Water, 2026 on 26 June 2026.
• Aim: Improve water security and climate resilience.
• Targets meeting 20% of urban water demand through treated water reuse.
• Coverage target: All 123 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) by 2030.
• Industrial wastewater reuse targets: 20% by 2028 and 40% by 2030.
• Mandatory treated water use for thermal plants, construction activities, and car-washing units.
• Promotes treated water pricing, public-private partnerships, and dual piping systems.

India’s Mangoes Promoted in Iceland for the First Time by APEDA.

• APEDA and the Embassy of India in Reykjavik organized the first Indian mango promotion events in Iceland.
• Events held on 24–25 June 2026 in Reykjavik and Akureyri.
• Showcased premium mango varieties: Dasheri, Chausa, Langra, and Kesar.
• Promotion aimed to boost Indian mango exports to Iceland.
• India is the world’s largest mango producer.
• Initiative supported by the India–EFTA Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement (TEPA).

India-Oman CEPA Enables Varanasi’s First Biscuit Export to Oman.

• APEDA facilitated the first 40 MT biscuit export from Varanasi to Oman on 25 June 2026.
• Export conducted under the India–Oman CEPA.
• Shipment exported by M/s Shree Tirupati Balajee Industries Pvt. Ltd.
• Consignment cleared at ICD Kanpur and shipped through JNPT, Maharashtra.
• Marks Varanasi’s first major processed food export to Oman.
• Supports Varanasi’s growth as an agri-export hub.
