Govt unveiled 45,000 crore investment plan to boost waterway tourism.

• Minister Sarbananda Sonowal announces 45,000 crore rupees for waterway tourism development.
• Aim to increase river cruise capacity from 2 lakh to 15 lakhs tourists annually.
• Allocation of 15 thousand crore rupees to build 1 thousand eco-friendly vessels.
• At present the river cruises in the country can carry 2 lakh persons per year and this capacity will be increased to 15 lakhs of tourists.

Decline in individual income inequality in last 8 years: SBI Report.

• According to an economic research report by the State Bank of India, individual income inequality in India decreased in last 8 years primarily due to a significant income category shift at the lower end of the economic pyramid.
• The disparity among those earning less than INR 3.5 Lakh annually declined by 16%, indicating group's income share compared to their population portion has increased.
