IISc Team Develops 3D Lung Model for Tuberculosis Research.
- Scientists at IISc have created a 3D hydrogel culture system mimicking human lungs, enhancing tuberculosis (TB) research by enabling detailed study of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) infection and drug efficacy.
- This 3D model, composed of collagen, allows for extended observation periods and more accurate biological resemblance to human lung tissue compared to traditional 2D models.
